Maier Electronics has been manufacturing some of the highest quality UV flame sensors, known as ultraviolet detector tubes, for industry since 1965. Maier Electronic was started in 1962 in New Jersey as a manufacturer of ultraviolet flame-sensing devices. Flame scanner controllers, which are designed to protect against explosion hazard in high-pressure boilers in electric utilities, tankers, ships, oil refining towers and numerous industries. The devices are also used in light out detectors monitoring the afterburners in fighter jet aircrafts. Other Maier Electronics products include optical windows and glass to metal headers hermetic seal components, as well as UV source tubes. The company is headquartered in Manchester Center, Vt., where it is privately owned and employs nearly 10 people.
