Clams are always a bit pricey but if you like whole belly clams this is the place to go. It was all I hoped for and more. As a child I grew up in an adventurous family and we’ve soent vacations clamming at Cape Cod in MA, (when it used to be safe to do so), the rocky coasts of ME where we camped on a cliff overlooking the crashing ocean below. We spent the day hunting for clams, all 7 of us (big family) so we had plenty of clams. Mom made clam fritters, fried clams, and clam chowder right there that night as we listened to the crashing ocean below, tired but at peace, eating the catch til we fell asleep full and self satisfied. This was s family tradition each summer when it was legal to do so. I’ve no idea what the status of clamming the Nee England coast is now. Those were the days. So these clams while of course not as great as moms under the night time Maine sky, are almost as good so that means very good.
