Green Acres Elementary School serves a population of more than 550 students in kindergarten through grade five. It is a feeder school for McLaughlin Middle School. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies. The school offers a peer mediation program that allows students to meet and settle differences before they escalate into major problems. It also operates the Manchester Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, which provides educational and related services to students with educationally significant hearing disabilities. The school s parent-teacher association conducts several annual events, including fall family picnics, ice cream socials, book fairs and teacher appreciation luncheons.
