So this is the first time that I have any sort of review, but I just want to make sure that ya'll know what you are getting into with A-1. We decided to go with them, despite the low reviews, because they are the only place in town that will recycle glass. After signing up, it took them 3 weeks and multiple calls in to start picking up our trash and recycling. They said they would come by after a missed pick up day, but did not do so until 2 days later. A few months later, I witnessed them taking 2 large bags of recycling (boxes and the bag on top for glass) get thrown in with the trash pickup. Recycling is an extra fee each month. Others I know with A-1 have seen similar things with negligent recycling pickup.
Fast forward to the sale of our home. We discontinued service half a month in advance. The week before the new owner moved in, I called over 15 times during business hours to request that the cans be picked up, with no answer or answering machine. Finally, we went to the address listed on the website, where there was another unhappy customer there as well. After 10 minutes at the door, a woman pops out and asks what we want. I explain the situation, and she said that they have been on vacation for a week, weren't open today, and that we were interrupting her "sleeping off a vacation". They had not let customers know that they would not be contactable during this week. She also tells me that they usually don't pick up the cans when people move out, but wait until the new owners get so sick of having them there that they call. She then proceed to be incredibly rude to the sweet old guy who was waiting to talk to her about his issues.

Bottom line, this can't just be chalked up to poor customer service. Their recycling is a scam, and is being reported to BBB. Steer Clear.

I moved from a town that you did not have a choice in trash service. I went with the "purple can" originally because of KState, what a wrong choice, they did not deliver my can for 2 weeks, then missed me for 2 weeks and the office staff was rude. I call A1 Trash and started with them, the secretary was so helpful and then she even delivered the can the next day. A1Trash not only picks up everything I put out but cleans up any trash around my can too. The drivers are so nice and the staff is amazing in the office. When I switched it was such a busy time for them with students leaving for the summer, but the made me feel like I was their only priority.

A1 Trash is by far the best trash service in town. I have been with them for 5 years and have never had one problem. The office staff is always very helpful and courteous. The drivers are amazing. They have come up and got my trash a few times when I have forgotten to put it down. They take everything even if it is outside the can. I would give them 100 Stars if I could. Multiple missed trash pick-ups. Even after many phone calls and emails to no avail. When I finally cancelled they took forever to even come get their trash can off my property even after multiple promised pick-up date. Was going to try to get a refund just on principle as I am not one to complain and almost never write reviews especially negative ones, but reading the other reviews on here I don't think I'm even going to waste my time. Wish I would have read these reviews before I hired them. I even joined YP just so I could warn others with my review.

Terrible! Refused to cancel my service when I moved. Three months later after a Better Business Bureau they finally refunded me for the charges but still refuse to pick up the cans. I'm still getting fined by my HOA for the cans being out.

Horrible! I gave them 2 weeks notice that we were moving, got verbal verification AND email from MacKenzie that she would get her manager to remove me off autopay and everything was fine and we wouldn't get charged anymore. We moved in May.. I still got charged for June and July. I've called over and over again, no responses.. I've emailed.. no responses.. It is now September and I'm still waiting for money that is RIGHTFULLY MINE. Its annoying because they don't have the decency to at least give me a reason! Who does business like that?? Please don't waste time with this crap company. They are theives and will steal your money. Customer service is terrible... If I knew better, I would have considered other.

Great experience . Will use again! These people work very hard and will work their best to resolve any issues.

I can echo the comments below with lack of response to multiple phone calls, voice mails, and emails sent. Currently I have been charged for 1 month additional after i have tried cancelling my service. It is hard to cancel service when their office is non-responsive.

They don't answer their phone often. Have skipped pickups quite a few times and have pulled funds from our account twice after canceling service. And I can't get a hold of anyone during business hours to discuss. Such a pain!

They can't seem to follow basic instructions. Called then twice to cancel my account as my lease was ending and I was moving out. They never put money back into my account for the first month after I had moved out. They then charged me for the second month after I had moved out. Very disappointing. I had verbal confirmation TWICE that my account had been deleted and that money would be credited to my account. I would not advise using them.

Never had a problem with the service, however the billing department needs serious work. They keep telling us we are behind when we are not. We have proof of each payment from the time we got the service.

Excellent service, friendly and courteous. The best way to describe them is "Value Added". I would highly recommend A-1 Trash Service to friends and family, and I have.

AWESOME SERVICE. A1 Trash service is not only the best service in town but they go out of their way to make sure that they live up to their name. They are not the average service nor do they prey on the purple hearts and then deliver terrible service and an office staff that are obnoxious and rude. A! Trash service has gone out of their way to keep prices low, give discounts to our Military and Seniors, plus this year they started giving a student discount. The Service is EXCEPTIONAL from the drivers to the office staff !!

A1 Trash is the best trash service I have ever had. The people are so nice and work so hard. A few weeks ago I forgot to put out my trash and they came up to the house and got it. I have never had such a dependable trash service until now.
