Provided by YP.comMy daughter, who is a teenager, took her F150 in to get the oil changed only. An employee came into the waiting area where she was sitting telling her that the rear differential had no fluid in it and there was metal shavings in it and if she didn't get it fixed that it could cause her truck lots of problems. The employee said he could flush out the metal shavings and put fluid back in it for $69.99. They were to change the oil only. Not poke around. When my daughter told us about this we immediatly took the truck to our mechanic. There was nothing wrong and guess what.....there was fluid and NO metal shavings. There was no evidence that the housing had been taken off to check this. Ther Kwik Kar employee had only took the plug out to show her. I feel they saw a teenager and thought they could scam her by getting her to agree to another service other than just her oil change.
I had taken my Jeep in later that day for an oil change. They told me the same thing saying that all four wheel drives need to have the rear differential checked and the transfer case to make sure there is plenty of fluid and they could do this service for $69.99. I guess that was upsale service for the day since my daughter and I were both told we needed the $69.99 service on the same day. I will not be taking my vehicles there again. I have used them for years and everytime they have always tried to sell me some other service. Go to a dealership or some other place other than Kwik Kar Lube for an oil change and inspections.
