Worst daycare EVER!! Please read!

I am actually a former employee of The Children's Academy so I am able to tell everyone what really goes on there. They are only worried about the money, true child care is not what they are in for. The director makes sure she is always out by 3pm and stays no later. From my experience in daycares, as the director you should be there a hell of a lot more often, even sometimes during closing hours. She is part owner too so she should make her job more of a priority if you ask me. They will keep children there if they are sick, throwing up, diarrhea, high fever, ect... Then other children get sick as well as the teachers, and trust me I've gotten sick more than once from being around children that should have already gone home for having a virus. I remember one time personally taking a sick child with a very high fever to the office and telling both the director and assistant director that this child's mother should be called and picked up and all they told me to do was to cool the child down, to take him in a private room and remove his clothes and let him lay down. I could NOT believe what they had told me! They will hire anyone off the streets, even if they don't have child care experience. They don't give background checks right away, they have left new teachers alone in classrooms without giving a background check. CPS was called so many times when I was there, countless times in fact. I have had so many parents complain to me about how rude the assistant director is, and in fact 3 families have pulled their child out just because of the assistant director alone. They do not serve healthy food at all. Pop tarts, cheese puffs and hamburger meat with ranch Just about everyday. Hardly any fruit or veggies. I don't know how they get voted number one in Mansfield every year with the way that they are, but I was told that they pay the parents off to write good reviews. That also speaks volume about the type of families there as well, if a parent is willing to take money or free tuition over the care of their child... They hardly do any learning whatsoever, the building and classrooms are so dull and boring with no decorations at all. If I were a child I'd probably hate going there. I've worked for many daycares even out of state and non of them have even come close to this place. Parents pull their children out left and right. Employees usually only stay for a few months if that. It is not an ideal center for children at all. Both the assistant director and director herself worry too much about their looks that you'll try 30 minutes to find them and discover that they are in the bathroom touching up their make up. They claim to be a Christian daycare but you'll catch them in the office talking about how drunk they were Saturday night... I don't know about you, but I want my children to stay as far away from that as possible. I didn't work there very long because I could no longer take the way that place was being ran.

Pneumonia and bruises

I reviewed every daycare I could find in mansfield for my daughter, after staying home with her the first year. We chose them because they seemed really sweet and affordable. Lets just say the extra 40/ wk wasn't worth what my child endured. I worked for a daycare before I know what's acceptable and what's not. Giving the families there free tuition for writing good reviews and voting in online contests is not. And that's why thy have so many reviews. Multiple occasions she came home with bruises on her back and bottom they said she fell down ALOT which was not my child. She had 2 identical horrid bruises on her arms in the same spot I contacted two different CPS agents both concluding it was in fact hand prints from being grabbed. She got bit a total of 7 times, 2 in one day and she was only there 4months. Once again I worked at a daycare I know what's acceptable and that never should've happened. They repeatedly let the children go out in windy cold(55-59) degree weather windshield was 43degrees. my daughter got pneumonia, bacteria in her sinuses, and they would rub her face RAW wiping snot when over the weekend she would be fine at home. my daughter went from being perfectly healthy to having 3 surgeries. They give them inedible foods she lost 2lbs apple sauce EVERY morning with pop tarts(not healthy) and cinnamon toast that was burnt, and she would be filthy when I picked her up covered in dried food. I was to the point I gave my 2wks notice at work to stay at home with my child my job offered me a raise just to pay for a different daycare. I gave childrens academy one months notice which is 2more wks than required. I took her out earlier because we found a spot at Kids R Kids right down the road. They told me I would have to pay tuition for the remainder of my time even though they only require two wks which she had been there. I argued that's not fair and she literally said "that just kinda stinks( but not such a nice word) for you" ( the blonde lady) Kate. And proceeded to argue and be rude when I said I wasn't going to pay for a daycare my child wasn't attending after that I took my child and never went back. She is now HEALTHY and THRIVING she has only been at kids are kids 2wks has began potty training with them (17months old) and learned how to use a actual cup with no lid, fresh fruits daily, they have a CHEF, video cameras to view online, and glass walls so you can see everything, covered play grounds separated by age, gym, computer lab, the list goes on for ONLY $40 more a wk! Choose wisely when you are talking about your child's care!!!<3 don't regret something that could've have been prevented. Saving 40/ weekly maybe being good but when you are paying for 3 SURGERIES in 4 months it is not cheaper in the end.

This is a great daycare! My son has been going here since he was 6 weeks old and they take great care of him. I am glad I chose this center. It is easily accessible, has great prices, and the teachers really care about the children. We have referred two families to this center and they love it as well.
