It is really sad when the police, recommend tourist of Corolla, NC, to a con-artist for towing and vechicle repairs. You think they could be a little bit smarter than the average bear. Apparently, this is a regular recommendation that the police give: A-1 Towing. Don't call the police if you get stuck on the beach. They are about useless. And, they are not going to pay for your vechicle, when A-1 Towing suckers you in and then keeps increasing the price; Then threatens to take a tourist to court, because, he didn't do the correct repair job, and the vehicle still doesn't run. The police in this town are knowingly recommending tourist to this con-artist. The complaints are all over the internet on how crooked this company is, and how the polic recommended them. Yet, the police still recommended us. When we pulled up to the mechanic / owner of A-1 Towing, he had a vehicle just like our in his driveway that needed a transmission. When he went to work on our vehicle, he kept saying it was fixed when it wasn't, thus the mechanic of A-1 Towing kept boosting the price. Then he threatened to sue us for the title - saying that he would keep the car in N.C. at $35 / day storage fee. If we didn't hand over the title to the car after we returned home, he threatened to sue us for the amount of time the vehicle was left their. All because he kept saying it was fixed, when it wasn't and then raising the price when he re-worked on it. ABSOLUTE CON-ARTIST! Thank you police department for doing such a wonderful job as dutiful servant to the public by recommending this con.
