My buddy is a newly certified diver and we decided to go to The Keys for a dive weekend. Back in January, I was on vacation in Grand Cayman and met a divemaster who had just moved there from The Keys. I told him what I was looking for and with any hesitation, he recommended Halls. I did my on-line homework and from what I found agreed with his recommendation.



We just returned from three days of diving with Halls and were very pleased. Their new store looks great and the staff was very attentive. Their boat, Lady Key Diver, was piloted by Captain Bill all weekend. On Saturday afternoon, we had 15 divers aboard and never felt crowded. Captain Bill knew that my buddy was new and that I enjoyed photography then did a great job at recommending dive sites. He did a thorough safety review prior to pushing off. Once at the dive site, he briefed the site, discussed the tag line, reentry, and timing. What I really enjoyed about Hall's was that we were allowed to dive on our own with either a "start your safety stop at 1000 PSI" (deeper sites) or be back in an hour (shallow sites).



On board, there was ice cold water available, a huge cooler for stuff we brough ourselves, and cut up fruit for surface intervals.



For the night dive, Captain Bill lowered a strobe to make it easy to keep track of the boat.



On Sunday morning, my buddy and I were the only two scheduled to be on the boat. A group wanted to dive the Thunderbolt with is a deep dive. They asked if my buddy wanted to hire an instructor for $50 to accompany him. He was doing so well after 6 dives that weekend that he agreed. John came with us and did a great job showing us around the wreck and keeping an eye on my buddy.



All in all, we had a great weekend thanks to Halls and would definitely dive with them again!



By the way, we stayed next door at the Sea Dell Motel which was recommended by Halls and was a perfect place to call home for the weekend.
