In 2004, we moved from the Jersey Shore to Marathon Florida Keys and launched SeaSquared Charters. In 2005, we were married on Sombrero Beach surrounded by family and friends, and we quickly settled into making Marathon Florida Keys our home.Born and raised in Belmar at the Jersey Shore, Capt. Chris landed his first job in the fishing business at 12, cleaning buckets on the headboats at the Belmar Marine Basin. From 13 to 18, he worked at Macs Bait & Tackle and then at Divers Two until he was 21. Hunting filled in the gaps between fishing seasons. With only brief stints in the construction and retail liquor businesses, Capt. Chris worked full-time on various charter, private and party boats until moving to the Keys.After a 20-plus year career in sales and marketing in New York City, Christy relocated to Marathon with her eyes set on starting a new life with Capt. Chris. SeaSquared Charters is the result of their combined talents and is their full-time pursuit.Our first boat was our Parker 28-foot Center Console, and Capt. Chris spent several months exploring the waters surrounding Marathon and learning the techniques specific to our fisheries prior to hosting our first charter customers.We now have four boats in the SeaSquared fleet, with Capt. Jason Bell running the Parker. Capt. Chris runs the SeaSquared Too, a 24-foot Hydra-Sports. And, we have Capt. Wayne Burri running the Waynes World and Capt. Alex Bell running the Blue Magic.While the Captains are busy entertaining charter customers, Christy is in the office taking care of all the behind-the-scenes details necessary for a successful charter fishing business. She especially enjoys providing personalized concierge service to help you plan your Florida Keys vacation.
