Smart Wheels ™ was one of the first in the USA to provide self balancing scooters locally and service all that we sell & we now offer many high quality iPET ™( intelligent Personal Electric Transportation) products at affordable prices. .Every Smart Wheels product is tested individually for reliable operation prior to shipping and all new Smart Wheels models beginning with model year 2017 are certified UL2272 listed and have passed Underwriters Laboratories new UL safety listing for hoverboards. However, we hold a much higher standard and benchmark than just a UL2272 listing for a unit to become one of our stocked models. All of our units are the original patent holding products and not the copycat counterfeit cheaply built "disposable toy quality" that often flood the market surrounding every good invention and patent that comes out. Smart Wheels never sold any of the smart balance scooters (hoverboards) that caught fire or were recalled in past years. We have always only bought directly from the real patented & approved manufacturers with the highest specs in the industry for each type and model we sell and do not sell any of the cheap counterfeit copies (look deceptively similar on the outside but junk inside). Just having UL2272 may help you not have a fire on your hands but that does not mean you product is built with quality lasting internal components and a design that will hold up over time that often leave customers with a "disposable toy" type low-quality product that breaks very quickly w/ no viable means for repair. Sure maybe you can return it depending on where you bought it, but then you'll still have to find a good one or you'll just think badly of the product sector as a whole and miss out on the thrill that riding a good quality board can bring, so why not buy a good unit at a great price from a company that offers parts and service as well, to begin with?
