Provided by YPmobilethey're negligent when it comes to regularly maintaining their property. On Feb 12, 2015 around 2am I was doing clothes & the dryer caught on fire. (In that same week there had been 2 fires in other units & right after the fire department cleared my apartment, they responded to another fire in the complex the SAME NIGHT!!) The next day I was told that my apartment was livable.. It had a STRONG odor of smoke & the carpet was SOAKING wet from the sprinkler, the apartment was in a disarray, the lights were blown out & the property manager/staff just did not care.. I was very depressed about the apartment & the fact that I was told it was livable... Would they have lived in there? Not to mention I have 4 children I had a 12month old & a 3 month old at the time who is still on oxygen... Did they care? Did they try to make their tenant comfortable due to their negligence? No. First question the property manager GREG asked me was the dryer mine? EVERY UNIT COMES WITH A WASHER/DRYER... That's all we talked about when I first moved in here. Now he asks me if it was my dryer?? Really?? & please keep in mind, I was very humble & calm throughout this whole thing. I had every right to go crazy because my children & I could have died but I didn't. I remained respectful. They said the apt was livable with a soaking wet carpet & 6 extremely loud blowers (to dry the carpet). It was so loud, I couldn't hear myself think. 1 blower used 2 outlets.. So of course, having six of them I was concerned with the electric bill.. I called & asked about it & they said they would look into it & if it was different from what it usually is, then they would handle it(You pay your utilities through them, you can not have a separate bill). I was ok with that. I come to the apt one night to see how things look & what's going on.. My kitchen light was on & my room light was on... (MY ROOM WAS NOT EFFECTED BY THE FIRE) so why were they in my room??? & how long have my lights been on??? I didn't go to the apartment in 2 days! (I had to pay the electric bill..) It was $222.42. My electric bill has NEVER been over $180 & remember Feb is a short month & I wasn't in the apt half of the month. Smh that's really sad. Then the maintenance ppl dirtied up the carpet, looked like they stepped in mud & walked in... ( the fire department didn't do it because they allowed me back in the apt after they put out the fire to grab some things) I called about getting a new Carpet because my son was crawling on the floor at that time & they told me that I couldn't get a new carpet because I did that to the carpet. Whaaaat??! (I truly didn't damage the carpet smh) They put a "new dryer" in here that smelt like smoke!!! It was spray painted white... (It wasn't the same dryer but it smelt like smoke & it had never been turned on..hmmmm) it was the same dryer!!!!! Smh. I'm not saying you will have a fire or another serious problem, but what if you do???? You don't want to be treated the way I was. Seriously, save yourself the heartache, headache & stress. Don't move here. Stay away!
