Provided by YP.comI do not have health insurance, and I have been sick the past few days. I was taking Allegra and Advil, and it hasn't helped. I've had a fever (of about 100), sinus pressure, pressure in the ears, sore throat, swollen & tender glands, headache, etc. So I decided to go to a CVS Minute Clinic, because I heard it was only $80 and they could prescribe antibiotics. What a total waste of my time and money. I didn't have to wait long, that is the only good thing I can say. I find out right off the bat that it is $100 instead of $80, since I am new, not including any tests. Then she wants to do a strep test. I used to get strep all the time, and it doesn't really feel like strep to me, but fine. She did a quick strep test, which came back negative. I thought it might be a sinus infection, because I have had a lot of sinus infections in the past. But no, she immediately said it is probably just a common cold and to keep taking what I was already taking. Then she said, "or it could be a false negative on the strep, we could send it out to a lab" (which of course is more money). I just wanted an antibiotic. I very rarely take antibiotics, it has been well over a year since I have. But she says that if it is a common cold, that it won't do any good, and we don't want to create resistance. Yes, I understand that, but you are also saying there is a chance it is something that you WOULD prescribe an antibiotic for. And since I so rarely take antibiotics, I am not concerned about resistance, I would like to cover my bases since what I've been using ISN"T WORKING. But no, she wouldn't prescribe me one, even though I expressed all of that. I paid $129 for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING... To be told to keep taking the over the counter things I am already taking that aren't working. Obviously I wouldn't be there if that was working. What a total rip-off. It makes me not want to go to CVS at all.
