The Hostess House is a beautiful historic architectural landmark that is open for lunch weekdays and is available for special events. Built in 1912 by prominent Marion businessman J. Wood Wilson as a wedding gift to his bride Peggy, It was designed by Samuel Plato, a notable African American architect. All proceeds go to maintain and preserve this historically significant structure. A gift shop and resale shop also support the house. Many weddings, receptions, parties, meetings, art shows and other social events have been held in this lovely, gracious building since 1950.
