I am strongly disappointed in the way one specific gentlemen treats people who bank here.I would strongly consider going else where to bank and here is why. I am a Police Officer, my wife is a Doctor. We took our children on a6 day cruise, withdrawing a large sun of cash. Carnival cruise Ine unintentionally charged my card rather than alowiing us to pay at the end of the cruise at previously discussed. Due to several charges throughout the cruise (all for under for dollars) or account fell negative as we withdraw prior to the cruise with no intentions of using this card. Upon returning home we realized what had happened. Upon contacting Claudia at the Marshall branch, she did what she could do based on her pposition, giving us 242.00 back of the 800.00 "in over draft fees". I was not happy with this as this was not an international act obviously, considering every charge being under the 4.00etc. I spoke to Eric out of the Coldwater branch which is Claudias boss. He refused to not give the rest of the "bank fees back". I was not contacted In ref to my account as the 4.00 charges were continuously being used by carnival, "out of the country". I did however receive letters indicating my transactions being in the negative approx one month later. My wife and I paid approx 800.00 dollars to this bank for bank fees.

As a Police Officer and my wife being a very successful Doctor, we would strongly encourage you to not bank at this location as the bank clearly showed the way they treat their customers. We ended up switching banks due to this.

Other banks will contact you via TX or through email if there are possible issues of any suspicious activity, however Southern Michigan National Bank doesn't believe that it is important.

I also downloaded their app to stay on top of my account. My account showed for example (357.00) as the balance. There negative status indicates parenthesis, rather than a - or neg as your balance. Either way, what bank doesn't contact you it's suspicious activity is being seen on their end. I am baffled on how this bank could keep almost 1k out of my paycheck and simply refused to give us our 800.00 in over draft fees.

I would STRONGLY EVALUATE your banking there. I can assure most people that this example is not only probable, it's likely as accidents happen.. Erics decision to keep almost 3/4 for again, not what we owe people, yet their made up fees..

Please consider this as an example of what could happen to you and when it does, know the bank will keep almost every cent. It was very apparent that doing the right thing meant nothing and their lack of contacting us showed their level of professionalism.
