I'm posting this review 7 years later. The reason why I'm doing this is because I don't want this to happen to anyone else. And after a recent visit over the weekend to PA, it brought back bad feelings and memories. In Feb 2007, I was in the market to purchase a new home, I visited a few builders but decided to go with Delta because the salesman,Chuck(don't remember his last name and don't know if he still works there) was ver enthusiastic and very pursuasive. We visited some lots and settled on a lot located in the Lake of the Pines community. The lot he showed me and said we were purchasing was on relatively flat surface and had some trees. Not anything that would break the bank in regards to building. We bought the lot at 40K( I know alot of money) and decided to shop around for builders. We went with another builder. We then began the process of getting the permits and to to survey the land when I got the surprise of my life! The lot that the builder had surveyed and got the permits for was totally different than the one I thought I had signd for. The only reason I found out was because the builder was telling me that because of the slope and overall land layout it was going to cost another 40K to build the house. Imagine my disdain and anger. When I went back to "Chuck" and demanded my money back he stated that that was the land I had signed for and that he never showed me that lot we had supposedly signed for. I got dupped with the old bait and switch!I was so furious that I decided to get legal council but that again was a joke.The attorney said that it was basically my word aginst his and why go through the hassle of going to court and wind up losing. Imagine that! I think these people are all in it together to steal people's money. So, for all these years, I have been paying lot dues and taxes on a piece of land that I did not want. Not to mention the 15K that I shelled out to the builder that I never got back! Please,please ,please learn from my lesson. Do not buy anything from Chuck or anyone else from Delta homes. In my opinion, they are nothing but crooks trying to steal money from people that are looking for a nice house to raise a family. I gave them 1 star rating ony because it would not let me give them a zero star rating.Thank you.
