Real Greek Food--worth the trip!

I had the opportunity to taste the Baklava from Yanni's at my office this week and decided it was too delicious (and I am extremely picky) not to go and try the food. When we arrived, I was surprised to find how small the restaurant was--it only seats 10 people-so don't show up with too big of a crowd. However, the size was of little consequence once we tasted the food. We started with the tzatziki & pita and hummus & pita appetizers. The pita was warm and had the perfect texture, slightly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The tzatziki & hummus were very good because the flavors of both were well balanced. For our main courses we had the Pastichio,Traditional Gyro (pronounced Year-o), the Meatball pita, Chicken Pita, Pork Skewer and Chicken skewer plates which were served with salad and lemon rice. Everyone loved their meal and the portions were generous. The owner Vula was friendly and down to earth. This place is c-a-s-u-a-l so if you don't mind eating good greek food off styrofoam plates with plastic utensils then you'll be fine. I only had two complaints-they were sold out of Rizogalo (Greek Rice Pudding) because my husband was looking forward to trying it and if they must use disposable plates, a better, more environmental choice would be good quality paper plates. Bottom line: this is simple, good Greek food.
