King's is our favorite Italian Restaurant. We sometimes drive 20 miles of bad West Virginia roads just to eat at King's, and it is never a wasted effort. They do a lot of carry out business, which always involves getting in a line of a lot of people in a hurry to get in and get out, but we prefer to eat in. We often split cheesy garlic bread and an antepasto for lunch for two and as a whole, it is a flavor explosion. The antepasto is loaded with meats, cheese, olives, pickled vegetables, cucumber and tomato, and salad greens. When hungrier, we split a whole large pizza (18") with extra cheese. The pizza dough is the New York style, chewy, yeasty and yummy. The tomato sauce has a bright tomato flavor. They must put more than a pound of mozzarella on the large pizza with extra cheese. A wide variety of other toppings are also liberally applied, if chosen. The cheese is a good quarter inch thick, when brought to the table. The tomato sauce is not highly spiced, but for those who want more character, oregano, garlic powder, red pepper granules, and parmesan cheese are always on the tables for those who eat in. Service is always punctual and helpful, and eager to please. Because the floors are tile and the kitchen is exposed to the dining room, the atmosphere is a little noisy when the dining room is crowded, but you came for the food, didn't you? On Valentine's Day, they had a special of dinner for two for less than $30 which included two glasses of wine, soup or salad, any non-seafood entre, hot bread with garlic dipping oil, and desert. I chose the Veal Parmesan, while she had Eggplant Parmesan. Both entrees came on individual platters, with a side of spaghetti and tomato sauce. The veal was excellent, and was hand breaded genuine veal cutlet, about five 3" slices and was not a preformed chopped and frozen patty. It was loaded with tomato sauce and smothered in mozzarella cheese. It was terrific. The eggplant was crusty and tasty, and also loaded with mozzarella. Both entrees were so large, they made a second meal. The desert offered was cheesecake, topped with whipped cream, a drizzle of strawberry syrup, with a strawberry on the side. It, too, was great. Submarine sandwiches are also very large and well filled, and extremely popular. When King's food is so excellent, and so generously served, why go anywhere else?

My first and last trip there. When I walked in the door, a young lady asked if I was eat in or take out. I said take out. When I approached the counter I was asked (very rudely) what I wanted. I asked to see a menu, and within 2 minutes of getting one I was again asked What do you want? I tried to explain I had never been there and needed a moment to decide. I was told I needed to go sit down.uUnfortunately

I love King's

Everyone is always friendly! Their pasta meals are big enough for two people to share and taste amazing and are not expensive (unbelievable portions). I always order their breaded mushrooms.. and unlike their competitors they don't count them out. They literally give you a gigantic container filled. Best subs in Martinsburg, hands down- no matter if its hot or cold. Only downside is no delivery. But I like less than two mins away so isn't a big deal for me.
