If you go to the emergency room, in general you have to wait a long time to be seen. This is to be expected if they are very busy and your problem is minor and should have been treated in a doctor's office instead of the ER, but if there is a problem that requires timely surgery it is not so good to have to wait. Also, duplicate charges, unbundling, and upcoding of visits result in unfairly high charges that insurance company will not reimburse. Just hope that the correct diagnosis is not missed, as that could result in incorrect or delayed treatment.
