South Central Indiana REMC is a customer-owned, nonprofit energy cooperative. The cooperative is one of nearly 40 rural electric cooperatives in the state of Indiana. Electric cooperatives were organized throughout the state during the 1930s. South Central Indiana REMC serves more than 33,000 members in seven counties, including Morgan, Monroe, Brown, Owen, Putnam, Johnson and Clay counties. Members have the ability to elect the cooperative s board of directors. Services include electrical service work, generators, high-speed Internet, Kid Secure, long distance, medical alerts, propane, scale control products, security systems and surge suppression products. South Central Indiana REMC is located in Martinsville, Ind.
