I am not one to typically write reviews, good or bad, simply because I don't have the time, however, in this instance, I specifically made time in order to better serve the community.



A couple of weeks ago my husband was on his way home after picking up our 9 month old daughter from daycare when he was traveling down Cotton Slash Road at the same time a Rent-A-Center truck from the Marysville location, driven by an employee named John, also was, in the opposite direction. Upon passing, they clipped mirrors, which completely smashed & broke my husband's driver side mirror. Upon stopping, both drivers inspected damage, while an unnamed female passenger in the Rent-A-Center truck got out & began picking up pieces of their truck's mirror. John admitted fault, given that his truck was significantly larger than my husband's, & informed him that Rent-A-Center would take care of this, there was no need to call the police to file a report, & they exchanged insurance/contact information. My husband, who works for the City of Marysville, very well could have reached out to local law enforcement to file a report, but took the man's word for what it was & was willing to handle it without that step. A few days later, we received a phone call from Rent-A-Center's insurance company, stating they would NOT be covering the cost of damage done to our vehicle as their driver stated he was not at fault, no police report was filed, & there were no other witnesses. My husband immediately tried to contact Rent-A-Center & was asked to call back when the manager, Chad, was in. After a few days he was able to get a hold of Chad, who met him with nothing but unprofessional behavior. He was unwilling to listen to our side of the event, refused to find a way to cover the cost of damage, & became very uneasy when my husband asked if he had tested his employee for drugs and/or alcohol the day of the accident since his version of the story changed significantly since the day it happened. The woman in the vehicle at the time is also still unknown & Chad eventually hung up on my husband, thus, we are now left to repair damage done by their company/driver.



I feel it's necessary to let the community know these are the types of people you will be doing business with if you use this location. I am not sure if this is indicative of their every day work ethic, but it's clear they have no desire to uphold a decent reputation. We own a side business ourselves & know how we would react in a situation like this, so we expect all upstanding businesses to do the same thing. While a mirror swipe isn't a huge deal, the fact this could have been more serious, definitely is; not only was my husband involved, but our very young child was too.



Please think twice before you trust people like this with your time, and your money.
