LansingTom...I am very sorry you had this experience. I am the owner of Magic Maids and this ad and number listed (which is now disconnected) is not my company. A friend of mine just informed me today that she saw a different company number listed out there, so I started to do my own search. I suspect that someone has been acting under my name because in this ad, part of what is stated is the truth, and part of it is falsified information. The spelling/grammatical structure in the description is horrible. I would never present myself in this fashion. I will, however, be looking into this matter and seek legal advice. Again, I apologize for your bad experience and thinking that we would provide such a service.

Absolutely awful experience. We contacted Magic Maids to give our house a thorough cleaning prior to an open house. We left the cleaners to do their work and returned some hours later. It was clear that they had vacuumed and dusted, but the bathroom looked untouched. The bathtub was covered in soap scum, the edge of the sink was wiped down, but the basin had toothpaste residue and scum all over it. Moving on to the bedroom, our comforter was hastily thrown on the bed with one of our blankets wadded (not a bad fold job, wadded in a ball) on top of one of the pillows. In the living room, the coffee table was not cleaned. I have no idea what they spent their time doing in the two hours we were gone.



I immediately called the home office to voice my concerns. I got the voice mail and did not hear a peep from them until the following Tuesday. The woman who called was nice enough. She was concerned about the bathroom (though she said that she wasn't worried about the coffee table...baffling). She also said that they normally don't do beds unless the client leaves clean sheets out to change. This was not mentioned at all in the initial scheduling and I have no idea why I should have expected that.



At any rate, she said that she would send someone out 10AM the following day to clean the bathroom. I said that would be fine and that I understood that mistakes happen (though this was clearly just laziness). The next day, 10 AM came and went with no sign of the cleaner. I had to go to work at 10:15 and left. Upon my return that night, my wife found a note on our door saying that they were held up in traffic and didn't make it their until 10:30. The traffic claim is ridiculous at 10 in the morning. They were just late. They did not bother to call to let me know.



Later that day I got a call from the cleaner apologizing and asking if she could come tomorrow to do it. I told her that her services wouldn't be needed anymore.



It's been over a week. They've cashed my check, have not attempted to contact me, or sent a refund.



I work in the service industry myself and I would be absolutely ashamed if I, or any of my staff treated my customers like this. Absolutely no excuse. Avoid this Magic Maid company.
