It is with great disappointment I am writing this review. I showed them what I would like in a picture of their own work. It started with Courtney and a botched balayage. She put my hair on a piece of plastic and painted die all over. Absolute no blending. I asked her to go darker on top roots. She dropped some light brown ...not dark... on top of my head while the balayage was still lifting. The brown got mixed into my bangs while shampooing. Leaving me with no blonde highlights. When finished she told me I could come back and she would put some blonde back in and make my hair darker at roots.
I went back 2 weeks later because I couldn't take the frustration of my bangs each time I looked in mirror. Marjorie said she could fix them and the light brown on top. The brown was darker but I was left with orangutan orange bangs. When I called to explain what happened I was met with a huge sigh of annoyance from one of the owners, Jackie. I went back and had the other owner, Tammi, fix it. Tammi pulled from my dark pieces of my bangs and made more orange than I previously had. One streak of blonde. No toner was used either time.
I have a card there and they are very familiar with my hair. I would have been ok if they had just said they did not have the skills to do that with my hair type. I've never had any problems, except for Courtneys hair cutting skills, but I was ok with that. I went to another salon and they fixed my bangs with ease, so it was not a lifting problem. They informed me that, in fact, the balayage job was botched. I really enjoyed going to Instyle Salon through the years. Never again.
