Provided by YP.comI went in with set things to get done i had called in advance and got a price for the work. The work i wanted done was Transmission Flush, Oil change and they priced me at $79 for the transmission flush, about $50 for Fluid and the oil change was $40. Total with out tax would be $169. When i got there a asked them to check the bushing and if they could the suspension they asked me if i wanted a new transmission filter and i said "Yes i guess so" Figuring it must be part of the service. Me and my daughter were going to walk around town all day. But the mechanic offered to take us home. So we accepted. He said he would call and get us when it was done that afternoon. So 4:30pm came around and i called to see what was going on and they said it was done and he would be down at about 5 or 5:30 to pick me up to get it. He did call back and when he did he told me i owed $351.59...... i had to give it to him to pick the car up. NOW figure i was given a price when i arranged to work to be done and it was around $169. give or take a few dollors because different cars take different amounts of Transmission fluid compared to $351.59
I about died right there. My husband needed the car the next day for work.
I went down there i would like to say i can afford a lawyer and my husband doesn't need the car for work but that is not true and i don't think it that way for anyone. I did get him to lower the bill a little but he did alot of work i hadn't had plans to have done yet. The list of work done was as followed.
Motor oil change including: Oil $22, filter 8.95
Break fluid which i didn't ask for $1.
Transmission filter kit $31 which i figured was part of the transmission flush and wasn't told otherwise.
Transmission fluid $60
Labor for checking front end, four wheel breaks and adjusting shoes $20. (I didn't ask for this)
Labor for rotating tires (which i didn't ask for) $15
Labor for changing transmission filter $72 which he asked me i wanted done and did tell me it would be more money.
He did drop the $20 and $15 for the front end breaks and tires but wouldn't drop anymore and let me make payments on the rest. But i still don't think it was fair. BY LAW you are required to ask if something wants done to your car before you do it, tell him much it will cost extra and get it signed. (If it's over the phone you don't have to have it signed but you sure have to have permission) But he didn't tell me it would cost more and than he stuck me with the bill. I don't think that's right and I WILL NEVER GO BACK!
He's supposed to have been in his current location for 19yrs and in business since the 1960 but apparently hasn't learned the law and has no idea what customer service is all about.
I know some of it might have been I'm female and though i can push her over. But she will learn from me i will ruin he reputation and make a claim with BBB. thanks for nothing.
