-final bill twice what quote was (should have got in writing)
-never called to authorize add. amt. & used parts put on vehicle (engine rebuild- why spend high$ only to put used belt tensioners, belt, etc. that will fail soon), yet final bill had 2 cell #'s left for comm. on it, so they had them.
-Owner, Larry, total @$$ when politely questioned, became irate and my representative was cussed out unprovoked
-Took 6 MONTHS, no exaggeration, to rebuild. Larry blamed machine shop, later said he was sick day machine shop called for engine block so got pushed to back of que. 1. don't lie, be honest from start, 2. people get sick yes, but there's 3 other empl. I saw that could have taken block, 3. NO machine shop has 6 mo. que., completely unreasonable repair time. had to buy addl. truck in meantime to work + acc. to do my job, still make payment on truck in shop for 6 mos.
-post compl: fan unattached, oil leak, A/C no longer works
CONCL: UNPROFESSIONAL, CHEAT!

Last year I tried to get my truck inspected at Larry's, they failed it because they don't know what they're doing, what a nightmare, no one else wanted to inspect it because Larry wrote it up. I had to get the D.O.T involved to get my truck passed, there was nothing wrong with it, but Larry's wrote it up for a bunch of things and no one else would touch it after that. Run Forrest run fast and far

Part of inc. cost was injectors which, once tested, shop was sup. to call me w/ results so I could decide whether to rebuild them or get new myself & avoid paying shop's mrk-up on new set. Shop apparently thinks you simply dropping off a vehicle gives them an open check book to do whatever they want with no need to ask much less inform you of the change or option.

-wanted head studs put in block while rebuilding engine, weren't on final bill. When I politely asked shop about it, was told kit on back-order yet I never got a call saying this and if I had, I could have gotten from numerous places and taken down to shop. I mentioned as much and was told if I could find it, they'd put them in. I said no problem and asked what the additional labor cost would be now that heads would have to come off again. Larry (Owner) literally told me word for word (this is not paraphrased) "if it'll SHUT YOU UP, I'll jus' put 'em in for free!". WOW!- great customer service, very professional way to talk to a customer your trying to stick with an unauthorized 10k bill! I bought head stud kit without problem the next day and had friend in the area drop off along with a service contract I had drawn up outlining the install service to be performed, done at no cost per Larry and my conversation, and done in a REASONABLE amount of time. Given my experience with this shop up to this point, I have no trust in Larry or shop to honor a verbal agreement as they've shown themselves to be sneaky snakes w/ no communication skills, hence the service contract. When presented with head stud kit and service contract, Larry became belligerent, refused to sign contract and threw it on the ground like a 5 y.o. throwing a temper tantrum, and this is where (as mentioned earlier) he cussed my representative out. Representative did nothing but drop off parts and contract at my request- no one deserves to be treated like that.
-post completion (bill paid and truck now in my possession): fan unattached to engine (just sitting in shroud), fan wiring harness bracket snapped off at bolt and dangling in shroud (found out once I attached the fan to engine and heard fan hitting on something), oil leak, A/C no longer works (spent 2k on entire new system a year prior at Carlisle Auto Air and worked great until the day after I picked up rebuilt engine truck from C.C.Ring & Pinion), Oil/Grease all over interior and bed of truck + old gaskets and some parts.
CONCLUSION: UNPROFESSIONAL, CHEAT, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO COMMUNICATION, UNREASONABLE REPAIR TIME, LIARS WHO DON'T ADMIT FAULT EVEN WHEN CAUGHT IN LIE. DO NOT USE!! I got screwed from this shop and there's nothing (worthwhile anyways) I can do about it but eat the cost and learn a lesson. Its not too late for you though and I implore you to heed my warning. If I can save even one person from experiencing the same disrespect, lengthy repair time, horrible customer service, and ...
