Provided by YP.comAfter 5 months, weekly trips 50 miles one way, and $12,000 plus paid to CVS, we had to have our 3 year old Labrador put to sleep last week because the doctor at CVS led us to believe that our animal could beat a very rare condition "IMHA".
This place is mostly about the $$$$. We have not even received a call, e-mail or letter from CVS since we lost our loving pet. By the way, "Peanut Butter" was my wife's service dog.

Provided by YP.comI do not recommend this particular CVS location! My reasons are below:
ER staff/receptionists are not courteous or knowledgeable.
Priority 1 wait times are extremely long (5 hrs for me) with little to no communication on what I should expect In timing and pricing.
I only spoke to the doctor, Dr Cooper, for less than 5 minutes in my 5+ hr time there. She has zero bedside manners.
Once my pets procedure was completed, only the technician came out to hand me my dog. There was ZERO dialogue with the doctor and I had to ask questions to find out how things went and what caused the issue.
Their lack of communication and comprehension led to them discarding my pets fluid that was extracted, with no sound reason as to why it was discarded.
This facility is THE WORST vet experience I've encountered. Please do your research and take your pet to another vet if it's more than something common. This facility is incapable of handling anything outside of a bandage and urinalysis.

Provided by YP.comA few months ago I wrote a review giving Carolina Vet Specialists in Winston-Salem 5 stars. It was after my two dogs had received chemo and were in remission. I noted the cost was pricey, but it was worth it to extend their lives. I also noted that everyone at CVS were wonderful in the way they treated the situations. Well, now that one dog is out of remission and being treated again, I've realized that I seriously over-rated CVS back then. This time around it seems that the interest and care originally given to my boys by the physicians is no longer evident. The vet techs and front desk staff are always awesome, but I get a definite sense from the doctors that this is really now just about getting as much income from the situation as possible. The sense of caring they had the first time is definitely lacking now, and we've decided to discontinue treatments. After we paid them thousands of dollars, one would expect them to at least call to inquire how the dogs are, but nothing.

Provided by YP.comThis place is only concerned with money.....They wanted $102 just to walk through the door....another $200 for x-rays...I was out of town for Spring Break and my 19 year old had to take our dog because the neighbor had shot him....They wanted $700 just to keep him overnight....we were forced to pay the $63 dollars to have him put down.....I feel sorry for people who have to use this place....and I will never again go here.

Provided by YP.comMy kitty has life threatening injuries, so I took home to Carolina Veterinary Specialists. I feel like the doctor is genuinely concerned about Meescos. She discussed in length everything about the hours leading up to him coming into the vet, and what the best course of action is for us to take. I feel like Meescos is getting the best possible treatment so instead of moving him to my regular vet, I opted to keep him at Carolina Veterinary Specialists Medical Center in Matthews. Meescos is still there and undergoing treatment, and knowing that he is in the best hands is the only thing comforting me right now.

Provided by YP.comMy dog got sick in the middle of the night, and I went to this new hospital. The people were so kind and Patches came home the next day feeling so much better! Thank you all!
