About Havlick Snowshoe Company Richard Havlick, the owner of Havlick Snowshoe Company, began making snowshoes in the 1960's. It started as a hobby/craft and took many years of researching and testing to hone in on the proper technique of snowshoe making. After knowing he had a good snowshoe, he started production and selling them through mail order in 1965 from the basement and garage of his home. After being employed for 20 years in research and development in the marine business.....and after the part time mail order business expanded, Richard moved Havlick Snowshoe Company manufacturing operation to Mayfield, NY and opened the factory outlet store in Mayfield that same year ( 1984 ). Havlick Snowshoe Company to this day prides itself on their Adirondack roots! The entire manufacturing process is completed in Mayfield, NY. Havlick snowshoes are made in the USA and makes all snowshoes it produces, available for sale online. Havlick Snowshoes are hand crafted with care in the Foothills of the New York State Adirondack Mountains. A tradition that began in 1965 and building innovative high performance snowshoes ever since.
