Provided by YPmobileIt's ok If you want to watch UFC. Every time we have gone & asked for a ball game on a TV they have never done it for us. Tonight we were told that they paid for the UFC fight, so can't change channel. Funny, we were there before 8, fight didn't start til 9. Couldn't watch our game til then? We were sitting by waitress station, they were rude, had attitude, complained about customers, even tasted the drinks before serving them! They took a straw a stirred the beers to make foam before serving them. Why? Is the beer flat? This is NOT an Irish pub!

Provided by YP.comWho wouldn't love a great neighborhood Irish Pub? One major problem...this pub simply misses the mark.
As much as we wanted to fall in love with Delaney's Irish Pub, we couldn't get past their glaring inconsistencies:
1) The music. Odd selection and played way too loud. It's not the least bit fitting for a neighborhood IRISH pub. It's a completely incoherent mix of country music, 80's rock/metal bands, today's hip-hop, indie, and some top 40 tracks...all played at decibels so loud that a conversation with a group of four is impossible. If you can't play Irish music, folk rock, or something more fitting for the place, at least pick something consistent and played at appropriate volumes.
2) The Food. Some good, and some bad. Some dishes clearly outshine others in terms of quality. And if your dish was well prepared the first time, it's quite possible that it won't be as good the next time. Inconsistencies rule the day.
3) The Service. Very slow. and non-genuine. Enough said.
4) The Decor. Love it. It has all the physical appearances of what could/should be a great local Irish pub. No changes needed on this front. But, of course,, there is a major disconnect between the decor/atmosphere and the music and service. A non-sequitur.
Bottom line: Delaney's needs to change their tone, music, staff/culture, in order to realize its potential. Unfortunately, unless Delaney's can transform itself and provide a consistently great Irish Pub experience, we won't be patrons.

Provided by YP.comHORRIBLE SERVICE
The other night we were in the McKinney area and very hungry. We arrived at 9:45 and seated ourselves. A waitress/hostess stopped by long enough to drop off a couple menus but it wasn't until 10:04 that a waitress came to take our drink order. We were ready to order food at that time too. As she was taking our order another worker (manager?) came over and said remember the kitchen closed at 10. Are you kidding me...We waited for 20 mins to get any service and by that time the kitchen is closed??? So because of your crappy service we do not get to eat?? WOW..had we know that we would have eaten at the pizza place next door that was open til 10 but by this time it was too late...After I got home I posted this story on their fb page and commented that I bet it would be deleted by the next day.. and it WAS. No offer to redeem themselves or anything...just deleted it so no one would see it. That is just BAD BUSINESS. I don't care how good people say the food is. I wouldn't know cuz we left hungrier than when we came in. If the service is horrible then it doesn't matter if they have good food. I will NEVER go back. I since have had other friends tell me their stories of bad service too....They cant delete my comments here!!!

Provided by YP.comI've been to Delaney's several times and each time it's gotten progressively worse. The last time was so bad, we will not be back. It's really too bad because the concept of this place is great - the whole Irish Pub thing should be cool. But Delaney's just doesn't deliver.
To start off the menu is just plain rude. There are several instances that actually point out what NOT to order. ("If you've never had lox before, DO NOT order this." And then something to effect of not sending it back of you don't like it...) And that's tame - no substitutions, no additions, no subtractions, all pointed out in a condescending manner... if you're not going to eat it exactly as it is described on the menu, don't order it. Of course this would be less of a problem if the food were better. It's just SO-SO. Soggy fries, cold burger, etc.
Then there's the staff. Given the tone of the menu, I imagine this isn't a really fun place to work. It shows. The staff is surly at best, outwardly rude at worst.
If it's pub grub you crave, head further east to Snuffer's.

Provided by YP.comSt. Patrick's Day 2009, Too crowded, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...RUDE BARTENDERS and I have never waited so long for a drink refill! This place should have gotten it right on this day, But they did not. Next year we will go to Shuck N Jive like we always do. Imagine that a better St. Patty's at a CAJUN place. Had been here before for so-so lunch for the price. But the service was not any better when we returned for breakfast a few days later. So-So food PLUS crappy service= DISASTER
