My daughter was just married at the barn last week and everything went well until the wedding was over. With no explanation or phone call the owner deposited a $200 cleaning deposit that we had given her eighteen months prior to the event. When we arrived at the barn we had to sweep out the entire building and pick up old napkins and other trash leftover from previous events. The barn was supposed to be clean for us. After the wedding there were eight of us that stayed late to clean the barn, and felt that it looked better than when we arrived. It was a shock to learn our deposit check had been cashed. When we contacted the owner to find out why, she told us that the barn was in a horrible state and that it was too late for us to do anything about it because she had already cashed the check. I was shocked. Needless to say I will make sure that as many people as possible know how we were treated. A simple phone call to us would have been the right thing to do. My feeling is that the owner made excuses so she could make some extra cash. I have seven others who were there and saw the barn before and after the event. Shame on you!
