In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am - we've got something for everyone. Enjoy your meal in our family-friendly, cabin-themed diner with our welcoming staff or order to enjoy in the comfort of your home.

Called for take out, put on hold for ten minutes. My wife went there half hour later and phone was still off the hook. Nothing was seasoned and food was awful. Will not be returning there and until they make some changes around there I wouldn't recommend you eat there either

Big Disappointment

Burger was undercooked wasnt able to flag a server down to notify the. The manager offered me a personal pie instead WTF not sure why I wouldn't have been offered a new burger to replace the one I took only two bites out of. Will not be returning to this restaurant and will not recommend it to anyone, will likely try to discourage anyone from eating there. Would like to leave zero stars.

a nice chain type restaurant

a huge menu with the usual burger and sandwich, salad, selections. Cute black bear theme even with a bear gift shop. A good place to eat on the run. Definatly not a special occassion restaurant. High point is there single serving pies.

Black Bear Diner wasn't as good as expected

I had heard that Black Bear Diner was a good place to eat. When i went there, the service was good, and the place had a friendly atmosphere. But, i was dissapointed in the food. The food quality was average, and was nothing special. I feel that the selectiong was big, but each meal was not prepared in a thoughful manner. I would stop there if i was on a trip, as opposed to a Denny's or McDonald's, but i would never recommened this place for anyone looking to eat out.
