Founded in 1960, South Huntington Jewish Center is an egalitarian synagogue, which specializes in worshiping and preaching the word of god. Based in Melville, N.Y., it is congregations of over 500 families, who come together to pray, learn, share and celebrate life experiences. South Huntington Jewish Center provides a range of educational, social and volunteer programs. Its facilities include a sanctuary, a weekday prayer chapel, the Rabbi Morris and Rochelle Shapiro religious education center, youth lounge and library and a catering facility.
