Capacity Transport has been servicing the steel industry in the United States with steel storage and transportation services for more than 50 years. Formerly known as Capitol Transit and Detroit Pittsburgh Motor Freight, the company has been operating under its current name since 2003. Its lanes of operation include Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, New York and Ontario, Canada. Capacity Transport has a 48-state transportation operating authority. Its fleet includes approximately 65 tractors and 80 company-owned trailers. Capacity Transport operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year. It also has warehousing services that include more than 120,000 square feet of climate-controlled indoor storage, as well as outside storage for hot band material. Capacity Transportation is based in Melvindale, Mich.
