I have been to this place entirely too many times to count, and I absolutely LOVED it. However, tonight was the most despicable experience that I have ever had at a restaurant, and utter disgrace. We were seated, and the owner/manager which I did not know this at the time, took our orders. She wasn’t rude, but she was definitely impolite and less than inviting. We had to wait over an hour which wouldn’t have been a big deal, but we had already received a less than welcoming greeting. When the chef came out, he skipped over us and went to a table of African American women. I only say this to say that just because their are other African Americans in the restaurant doesn’t mean that we weren’t discriminated on or victims of racial profiling as African American men. We then proceeded to ask the staff to speak to a manager, three different employees. The last employee even told us that she was busy. Finally, she came to the table. She was nonchalant, defensive, and combative. She made it completely clear that she could care less about us as customers. This was by far worst experience that I have ever had at a restaurant in my life. I’m so disappointed, disturbed, and quite frankly sad that this type of behavior comes from someone that owns A-Tan.
