We had my mother admitted with what we think were reasonable expectations: 1) We wanted an evaluation of her mental state and 2) a review of her medications and recommendations for how to precede with treatment. She was there for one week. Not once did we receive a call from a case worker or any medical profession. I have two sisters, and all three of us tried for a week to have someone return our calls. The only employee who did contact us was the Patient Advocate.

The first day my mother was there, I gave them a call list. That list must have been thrown in the wastebasket because it did not get in mother's record. The entire operation is a Medicare scam in our opinion.

Treatment of patients is horrible, inhumane. They put them after breakfast in a Day Room with uncomfortable chairs and keep them there until supper. The aides talk down to the patients and treat them roughly. This is worse than jail.

i do not understand the previous person who gave this wonderful facility a bad grade! maybe he has never, ever been at the brink of sanity. ladies and gentlemen, it is a "no man's land". bleak. anyway, i am an elderly cancer patient. scared. i was dehydrated several months ago. ended up in the er. i was assessed. then, i asked to be sent to a psychiatric facility. one was chosen for me. i went to sleep. i went to delta medical center. friendly, kind, top-notch facility. the staff knows how to care for psychiatric patients! my first day was a saturday. no matter-i saw several doctors. i was evaluated. and, they have a surgical ward, as well. and, see other patients beside psychiatric patients, i had a very, very pleasant stay. god, kind, friendly staff!

This is a horrible place when it comes to how they treat the mental patients. My mother was placed there through the V.A. I showed up on Sunday since I live out of town, but my mother has been there since Thursday. There was no interaction with the pacients and staff. They only allow one hour visits and will not allow the family in the living environment. I went to the back because I refuse to accept that I can't see where my mother is sleeping and living. It was so sad and depressing. Nothing but white walls and zombie people. It looked like a scene from a movie. I went to see my mother room, her bed was not made up (no sheets or blankets at all) the floor was dirty, had trash on the floor. The Dr. was rude and had horrible bed side manner. People where sitting in the visiting room complaining but was not doing anything to help their love ones. I refuse to accept this sitting down. People were complaining that their loved ones where dirty and smelled. All of the people had said that their family member had been their since early and mid April and they have never been to the living quarters and the staff was rule. I just want others to know what is going on with this place. I feel this place is worst than being in prison.
