Gallery Fifty Six surprized us. The outside gave us not clue what was inside. Once inside, we felt like we were in New York! Seriously. Except the prices were "fly over America", not NYC or LA prices. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't starving artist prices, but we felt they were good value. The had an art exhibition in place that was a local artist. Really exceptional work. They also were showing work by other house artists. As far as independent art galleries go, it was rather large, had to be around 3,000 sq. ft. with five or six gallery rooms. We bought one of the smaller pieces at the exhibit, they're going to ship it to us after the show. Not stuffy, but really a class act. They've got a good website for their art--looks like they do a good job of keeping it up-to-date.
