Dr. Rutland is a graduate of Mississippi State University and of the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. From 1997 until 2000, he was an intern and a resident at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis. In 2000, he began a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Tennessee School of Medicine in Memphis. Since completing his fellowship, Dr. Rutland practiced at Gastroenterology Associates in Little Rock, AR, where he was clinical assistant professor of medicine and gastroenterology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He joined Gastroenterology Center of the MidSouth, now Gastro One, in December 2006. He was certified in internal medicine in 2000 by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2000 and in gastroenterology in 2003.
