Wilderness Advocates helping to manage public lands

SGWA is a non-profit organization that recruites, trains, and supervises volunteers who help manage the San Gorgonio Wilderness in coorperation with the US Forest Service (San Bernardino National Forest).

Volunteers are every-day citizens with a love and passion for this very special wilderness area in Southern California. The USFS calculates the value of their volunteer contributions at about a third of a million dollars/year - 120 individuals contribute an average of 100 hours each summer keeping trails clear, removing trash/vandalism, operating Visitor Centers, performing Saturday Evening Ranger Talks, and educating the public about the Wilderness.
