Dr. Ogunlesi is a Board Certified Infectious Disease specialist. He established the practice in 2010, as a way to provide Infectious Disease management services to residents, hospitals, and nursing homes in Northeast Ohio. Dr. Ogunlesi was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He attended College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Science (MBBS) degree in 1997. Dr. O as he is fondly called by most of his patients, completed an internship at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. He subsequently went into private practice, and completed rotations in Orthopedic and Plastic Surgery. In 2000, Dr. Ogunlesi attended The John Hopkins University School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD, where he obtained a Master of Health Sciences in Health Finance and Management. In 2003, Dr. Ogunlesi began his training as a resident in the Internal Medicine residency program at Huron Hospital, the first step in pursuing his goal to become an Infectious Disease specialist. As a resident, Dr. Ogunlesi had an opportunity to demonstrate skills he developed during his Masters program at Johns Hopkins. He worked with the hospital's administration on reducing length of stay and managing throughput. He was appointed Chief Resident, and received the Outstanding Senior Medical Resident award. Upon completion of his residency program, he pursued a fellowship in Infectious Disease at Harlem Hospital, New York. He developed proficiency in comprehensive management of HIV-infected patients, treatment of Tuberculosis (TB) and infections caused by Multi Drug Resistant Organisms (MDRO). In 2008, upon completion of his fellowship, he returned to the Northeast Ohio region to practice as an Infectious Disease specialist within the Lake Health System. He also participated as a floor attending, presented on grand rounds, and noon conferences at Huron Hospital during 2008- 2009.
