Extremely dissappointed with this business. I took my boat in to add a jackplate and a power pole bracket, thats it. Jay told me that my engine shaft length was wrong and stated that he could fix it, no problems. "All we have to do is add a spacer." I trusted him and authorized the work. He was wrong. There is nothing wrong with my engine length(confirmed this with Ranger themselves), he drilled 4 holes and shaved down the control arm of my outboard all without telling me. I even specifically told him in the beginning not be drilling in my hull. When I discussed all this with him, he refused to admitt he was wrong and would not put anything back. I had to take this to a real boat mechanic at C&C in Modesto to fix it. They agreed this was all wrong. He left my motor too low, out of spec, with no ability to adjust using the jack plate. I also cant even trim high enough to put the transom support on for trailering. His comment,"you're worrying too much about not being able to trim up."????? Pictures are worth a thousand words. Beware! He ripped me off!

I spent time and money hunting down the problems my boat has been having at another local repair shop, to still be haunted by the ghosts in my boat. It was only a matter of time before I was going to give up on it completely. Something told me to treat it like myself and go for a second opinion.



When I showed up to the shop I was met by the owner, Jay. Now usually I am not the kind of person to leave a review for a business that has done what they said they were going to do. I just will not do it! This is one of those occasions where it is deserved. This guy had boats pouring out of his shop, and every time I stopped by he treated me like his only customer. That IMPRESSED me! My ghosts are gone. IMPRESSED. He answered every question honestly, and his pricing is well worth the quality of his work. All of this deserving some gratification i'm sure but I still wouldn't review a business based on that.



All of this happened this past summer and I have had a great time with my boat ever since. Well I returned to Jay to have him replace a few cables and do some re-wiring to my boat last week. He remembered me as he looked out from the engine compartment of another boat he was working on at the time. WOW! Anyways.. He finished doing whatever he was working on and was out of the boat before I could walk across his new shop, which is right next door to where he used to operate in the same building. Just as clean and professional as the first time I walked in the door, he greeted me and we talked about the things I wanted done. A couple of days later he called and asked me to come into his shop and take a look at my boat. When I got there he showed me parts of my boat id never seen before. Long story short, he wanted me to come in so he could show me my electrical system and actually saved me $.00 on rewiring it completely.



As far as people doing a service for their community at a very fair price this guy has shown me what its all about! Never have I been more satisfied with a business or the person behind it.



JAY IS THE BEST THERE IS!



Try to find better work and it will cost you. I made out. I got great service, a very professional result and I didn't end up buying things that I didn't need all at a price worth every dollar. I probably should have given him more!
