My son is seventeen and was just placed out of the home to a church family in merced. At my request the probation officer worked diligently at finding a christian home for my son and by the grace of God, he was placed with a pastor and his wife, along with two other boys ages 15, and 16. My heart is broken. For I feel as though I have lost him. Even with ten years clean, recently a full time nursing student and/or working 70-90 hour work weeks, I failed him. He was reaching out for attention, but I was not emotionally or physically available. I was selfish and enjoyed to much the feeling of accomplishing something in my life. I did however, recently give it all up when I learned that if I moved out of the county away from his negative peers, put my education on hold, and quit my job and went on public assistance, that I could possibly than be given the chance to have him come back home. I did all of this, much to my dismay, I still lost him. Only this morning did I awake with such a great feeling of approval for where he was and how lucky to have the opportunity to advance his life in Christ. If by chance you are the people taking care of him. Please be patient and understanding. He has been through a lot. I thank you in advance for doing wonderful works the Christ Jesus for my son.
