Provided by YP.comI sent this letter to them and never got a response. Seems like they're looking to avoid as much business as possible!!
"First I would like to start by saying that I have been to your car lot in the past and had always had bad experiences. I have also heard nothing but negative things about your establishment. But the last time I had visited was a few years ago so I thought that I would give Ron Smith another chance.
I went in to your used car portion on 1/31 and initially spoke to a John who helped me and he even took me and my girlfriend to the other part of your sales lot to show us some vans. I went in on 2/2 which was a Tuesday to complete a purchase and then dealt with Albert Diaz. He was first helpful as all car salesmen are at first and I told him up front that I only had about an hour to start the process of purchasing a Dodge Caravan that was in your lot for $15,900 (which John first told me was "$15k). I was excited to finally get into a van that I had been considering. I advised Albert that I had been pre-approved for a loan for $16k+ and just wanted to see what Ron Smith could do for financing that way I had options.
Albert had me give him all my info as well as my girlfriend's and he asked if I could fax in a copy of my checks since I told him I had to be at work. He also said that I would need to come in on my lunch to get my current car appraised for trade in. I proceeded to fax in my checks and called Albert back to let him know that I did that. When I called him a second time to make sure I was going to meet someone to appraise my car, he wasnt there anymore. Another person that answered the phone called Albert and had him call me back. Albert called me back and advised me that I didnt have to come in and to give him a "some time" to see what Ron Smith can do in terms of financing. None of that seemed unusual so I waited. The next day I hadnt heard from Albert so I called again and again Albert wasnt there. the guy that answered the phone AGAIN said that he would have Albert call me back which he never did.
As you can tell from my correspondence, I'm more than upset that I wasted a week waiting for a car salesman that obviously doesnt want to do his job or make a sale. Nor does he or anyone else in that office had the decency to call me and inform me of what options I had. Since that time, the van that I wanted is no longer in your inventory or on the lot so I assume it was purchased or moved. Also, since that time I have found a way to get approved for a $20k loan for a car.
I am reaching out to make sure that you're aware of the type of sales staff you have and to allow a company that has done nothing but disappoint me and any people I have asked, to make it right before I make sure that every person that I work with (which I've been at my job for 10+ years) and every relative I have here know of the ordeal that I have gone through. This process has frustrated me and my pregnant girlfriend and we are now willing to travel out of town to speak to people that would be professional and committed to customer service."
I am sorry for the lack of communication on our end to the customer. I agree that the salesperson should have returned the phone calls. Alberto Diaz has been a great salesman and still works for us. He did take a leave of absence as unfortunately one of his sons (who was 11) lost a 6 year battle with cancer. It’s possible that Albert had left early to take his son to a doctor’s appointment as he had done for several years. I am shocked that the other salesperson did not step up for Albert and the dealership and offer to assist with the customer with their purchase. Being that this happen quite some time ago, it’s impossible to back to figure out what exactly happened (or didn't happen) on our end. Car salesmen seem to fall under two stereotypes. One is that they never follow up with their customers. The other is that they never stop calling their customers and will not leave them alone. It’s hard to balance what is too much or not enough phone calls, text messages, emails, and letters to send to a customer that will satisfy the customer and the dealership. We try to do our best everyday to offer the best possible shopping and buying experience for our customers. We understand that we can’t sell everyone a car but we certainly try our best to. - Nick Smith General Manager [email protected].
