The Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole is an independent agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that offers supervision and investigation services. Located in Mercer, Pa., the agency administers the Drug Offender Work Program (DOWP), which includes painting and community cleanup services for various public institutions. It also provides employment assistance services. The Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole oversees and supervises the release of low-risk defendants who have been awaiting trials.
