I have visited the Meriden Supermarket for the past couple of months and I have been impressed. This is located where the former Towne and Country Market was for years. I have bought mostly deli items which have been excellent. I was impressed to see a full line of Thumann's deli meat in the case. Thumann's is out of NJ and not seen a lot in CT. In my opinion it not only gives Boar's Head a run for their money but is better. I am a frequent visitor to the website Roadfood.com where Thumann's is highly recommended. Being in CT the owner explained that he carries Mucke's and Hummel hot dogs because that is what people want. He has offered to order Thumann's for me which I took him up on. I am thrilled. I have had several homemade salads which have been excellent. Chicken salad, potato salad, seafood salad. Great homemade meatballs. I highly recommend this addition to Meriden. This is a family owned and run business and clearly, the owner knows quality. He's doing everything right! I hope you will stop by and give it a try. This is a small market that specializes in meat, deli and prepared food. They also carry a good array of general grocery items. Very pleasant and accommodating staff. It's great to be able to make a quick stop for fresh, top quality items. I will be a regular.
