The little country store on the corner of Homer and La Porte roads in southern Midland County is a place right out of history, and one worth preserving. Built in 1894, the business has outlived at least five owners. It currently offers sandwiches, groceries, and a few other necessities of life. Whoever is on duty is happy to indulge your questions about history and heritage while serving you.
