Jim Owner

I have shopped ACE Hardware on Courtney managed and owned by "Jim", I have referred people to ACE Hardware on Courtney Parkway owned and managed by "JIM". After today when I called the store to talk to JIM, I introduced myself and he said "I thought this was an important call, I don't have time to talk to you!" He did not bother to find out the purpose of my call, was rude and hung up the phone. I call back to discuss his level of service and he woul;d not take the call. He had someone take a message and when I described how I was treated was concerned about their job. I would not recommend this ACE Hardware to anyone. I normally refer people to places like ACE Hardware, rather than the box stores. This store due to management is no longer on any list .

I have been to several Ace Hardware stores in the past, and always got good customer service and a military discount (I went twice to Iraq, twice to Afghanistan, where I left some body parts... [I am an above knee amputee]).

I went to this Ace Hardware in Merritt Island today for the first time. When I asked for the military discount, the cashier told me that they were not giving any military discount in that store, although there is a big sign right across the register that says "we proudly support our military and our veterans!".

Since they are not giving any military discount, I just asked the lady what do they do then to "support the military", and she couldn't answer. The manager, owner, and another guy working there showed up, and none could answer my question. I said that I really didn't care much to have a few cents in discount, however, I asked them to put their "we support the military" sign down, since it is false advertising and very misleading. At that time, the guy got angry, called me names, went into politics and said he was going to vote for crooked Hillary Clinton (!?), and I left.

FYI, Home Depot and Lowe's stores are both still giving a 10% military discount with ID. The fact that Home Depot and Lowe's match prices and continue to give military discounts means that I will no longer be shopping at this Ace Hardware, ever. It's too bad they claim to support the military community and the veterans, but they treat them like sh#t!

Not responsible! These people are unbelievable!

Uncaring and it's your problem, you can't prove I did it attitude. On Sunday (Super Bowl Sunday) I sent my daughter to exchange four jugs of chlorine for our pool. She is only sixteen and had never exchanged the jugs before. I instructed her to go up to the cashier and let them know that she would like to exchange the jugs and they would help her out. My daughter did as instructed and they did help her with the jugs, however the person who helped her, put jugs in her car that were not securely closed. When my daughter arrived home (approximately three miles) there was chlorine all over her trunk and one jug with a cap almost falling off. Now this was a little before close on Super Bowl Sunday and I can only imagine the rush to leave the store. In fact right after my daughter returned home I myself went right back to the store only to find that everyone was already gone.I called the store the following day and they instructed me to call back Wednesday when the owner would be there. I called first thing and spoke with Mike who claims to be one of two owners. After going back and forth for several minutes his response is that he was not there and could not prove that it was their fault. He also said that this is not the first time he has had complaints of chlorine spilling in a customers vehicle. He also says that there is a sign saying they are not responsible for damage from corrosive materials due to transport. A sign that is hand written and bearly legible. I explained to him I agreed that they should not be responsible for corrosive materials that I bought placed in my vehicle, drove home and found damage. I do however feel that they are responsible for loading corrosive materials in my car and not making sure that the jugs were securely fashioned. After all they are the ones that open the jugs, refill them and recap them. The customer never touches them until they get home. I will be seeking a legal recourse in the matter. And will advise everyone of the way they run their bussness.
