They doubled the quote upon arrival to the shop and tried to explain that they effectively charge $150/hr. for labor, INSANE!

I had a technician at my house replacing a windshield on a newer vehicle through my insurance. While he was around I asked for a quote to replace glass on my classic truck. He quoted me $150 after confirming that I had my own glass. $150 was more than twice what others quoted but up to this point I had a good experience with them so I decided to pay more money. When I arrived at the shop they explained that it was $300 not $150 because they thought I was just replacing one side. This does not make sense at all because I was changing styles of glass so why would I want one side to look different from the other. All that’s needed to replace the glass on this truck is a string plastic wedges and a person inside and outside so the glass doesn’t fall. That’s it. No way should I be charged $150 for what should be less than an hour’s worth of work and a piece of string.
