A year ago, I bought an old 1981 Suzuki GS750 in rough condition, and soon realized it was more than my skill level to get running right. Who knows how many previous owners worked on trying to make it run before me, but they were not mechanics. I brought it to Steve’s worried he would turn me away and tell me to take my pile of junk with me. Lol. I’ve been turned down before at another shop; they didn’t work on older bikes. Not the case at Steve's, but Steve did say he would inspect it and let me know if it was worth fixing. Well to put it simply, Steve and his crew are experts with old bikes like mine, and my bike ran awesome after they made it a safe, reliable bike. A year later, it needed a little bit more service, I took it back to Steve’s and I was back riding it a few days later running like new again. Thanks to Steve and Brian and anybody else working there.

Steve and Brian are great people to know. Steve has been in business at their current location for at least twenty years that I know about, and you don't stick around that long if you are B.S.

Brian oversees the Service Department. He has a bunch of 1st class techs working there who know their stuff. They have both the resources and the knowledge to get your job done right, at a very fair price.

What I personally value about this shop is that it is not too big and not too small. Steve has always been fair too me and has always stood behind his products and services.

If you ride and live any where near Mesa, and value personalized service by good people, you owe yourself visit to this shop.

Above and Beyond Expectations

My first time buying a motorcycle was a positive experience. I searched online and made trips to several shops and dealerships looking for my first motorcycle. I had no intent in buying that weekend but found a motorcycle that met my requirements at Steve's Cycle. Since I already knew my price range and what I wanted the negotiation and sales process was quick and fair. During the test ride the bike had a slight hesitation when accelerating but we both shrugged it off due to the length of time the bike had been sitting. I was asked to bring it back if it became an issue. The bike later that week had the same issue so I contacted Steve. I assumed I would have to get it towed and make arrangements to get it back to the shop. What I didn't expect was Steve to go out of his way and pick the bike up for me after hours. The first visit to the shop didn't resolve the issue however Steve gave me his word they would make it right. When it happened again Steve offered to meet me after hours at the shop due to my work schedule so he could lock it up overnight. They cleaned the jets and tuned it to emission standards. When I got the motorcycle back it ran great! The next cold morning there was no hesitation it fired right up with little to no choke and the bike was smooth and responsive in acceleration. I was very happy they resolved the issue. In short, Steve's Cycle and Steve personally went above and beyond what I would expect a dealership or repair shop would do. While my experience was limited to the purchase of used motorcycle I would still highly recommend Steve's Cycle to someone that needs fair and reliable work done. With 30 or more years in the business at the same location you can expect to get experienced and professional service.

I took both my 1979 Honda and my 1998 Honda in and both were serviced great. Brian in service was very good. These guys go the extra mile. I spent a lot of money here, but that's not their fault. I checked their prices against others and Steve's is a good deal.

I come to Steve's once ever 3-6 months and have always had excellent service on my quads. Every November we come in and stock up on glamis apparel and Dune passes. I came in and had all the tires replaced on all 3 of my squads, I called the local shops and by far saved lots of $ coming to Steve. He also has great mechanics in the back room that really take good care of you and strive to keep the customer happy, this is why I keep coming back to this shop.

Fixed a mc tire with only 200 miles on it when I thought I would have to throw it away and was very fair with the labor cost. Told me about a sealer balancer that worked plus took some or the road noise out of the tires. Just had the seals replaced in my fork tubes at a fraction of what brand x wanted. I've told everyone I know that rides about Steve's. Will be back!!

AMAZING bike shop

Came in today to pick up a few new tires, helmets, and goggles for the upcoming dune season. They had a great selection of all accessories at fair prices. I had a great experience from start to finish and will most definitely be back nxt week for dune passes.

I'm glad to hear Steve is back, when it was not "Steve's" I was less than satisfied. Before that, Steve was great, did great work and the relaxed vibe was what I wanted out of a motorcycle shop. I'll be heading back there for parts and service.

A motorcycle repair shop that does good work, has friendly and knowledgeable people behind the counter and in the repair bays, doesn't try to rip you off, has what you need, is willing to answer your questions -- they're all-round good guys. I recommend them highly

I was so outraged with the personnel and owner of this cycle shop. I have two bikes so i have to buy double everything. I am on a very fixed income so spending any money here is a luxury. The customer service was non-existant, including from the owner. The large guy working there was unshaven and looked like he had been on a 10 day drunk. I asked several questions about items i was purchasing and he replied "This is was we have, take it or leave it" ... I just bought 8 new tires for 2 quads, and they wanted to charge me $30 ea to install... WHAT??? Unbelievable! I walked in today, no hello, how are you, nice to see you back, ... bought kit to install horn, cord not long enough, electric prongs did not have pieces to cover it... so i called and was just told to bring it all back and "go somewhere else" ... UNBELIEVABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...just take us customers and our money for granted... i will never go back and tell everyone i know NOT to go there.... and Steve, the owner, is just the same as above... dresses like a slob, no hello, courtsey, acknowledgement of thanks... RUDE ... THEY DONT DESERVE ANY STAR BUT I HAD TO PICK ONE...

WHAT SHE IS TRYING TO SAY IS SHE FOUND THE BEST BUY ON TIRES AND MOUNTS IN THE VALLY (WHICH IS THE ONLY REASON SHE CAME TO US) WE MOUNTED 8 ATV TIRES FOR $30.00 NOT $30.00 EACH/ AND WAS DISSATISFIED TO PAY A $8.00 TIRE DISPOSAL FEE AND ENDED UP TAKING HER OLD TIRES THIS ANGERED HER. I WILL TRY HARDER IN MY APPERANCE BUT IT IS SUMMER HERE IN ARIZONA AND 115 DEGREES, SOMETIMES YOU JUST CANT KEEP UP THE GOOD LOOKS AS SHE WELL KNOWS. THANKS STEVES CYCLE SINCE 1984

this place was great. I've driven past it almost every day for the last 10 years and this is the first time i needed something. i called and talked to the counter guy, he knew exactly what i needed, better yet he had it! spending 10 min to go down there at lunch beats going all the way out to west phoenix for the same thing. what i needed was small, just 2 carb jets, but when you're down to the details its important to have them fast. i'll be doing all my business with them from now on.

Steves back, the guy who opend this place when i was a kid

I used to go to steves cycle back in the 80,s , it was a mom and pop shop that was the busiest shop in mesa , this place has endured over the years but if you delt with steve you was always treated fair. they had about 15 people working there when it changed hands about 10 years ago, It is nice to see steve back again, I know steve has been in the bike business since the 70s and has some of his old employees back also.

Under new management

Not sure what the previous poster was talking about, Steve just came back into the business in July 2010.He had sold the business in 2001. I took my quad in to be fixed and he made sure the job was done right. Steve ( original owner) opened the business in 1984 has always given me a fair shake, I've been taking my toy's to Steve since 1991 and have never had an issue. He has the best deals on parts and accessories.
