Provided by YP.comWent to get a cell phone and ended up getting the family time Walmart plan.Bought the phone and everything needed to get started.Nick proceeded to help us set up our phone .He seemed to have trouble with the Sims card he asked me if I could get the card out that it appeared stuck. He asked several other associates to help with no luck. I heard one if the associates remark the Sims card was broke.Nick told us the phone was working and the Sims card just seemed to be put in backwards all we needed to do is take it home and find something to take it out with.He said he was going to lunch and the phone was fine. I told him I wasn't leaving till the phone was fixed he said he had no time to fix it and he's going to lunch .Great customer service.

Provided by YP.comGreat customer service! I bought a replacement car battery, but Mike in the Automotive Center checked to see that my old battery was still under warranty! Not knowing anything about exchanging a battery, I REALLY appreciate his honesty and help! He saved me a lot of money when he didn't have to. Thank you, Mike!

Provided by YP.comlately I have read some pretty scathing reports about the store we love to hate;Wal-mart.Surely with today's economy the motto "Save money, live better" has never meant so much to so many. With check list in hand I headed off to my local Signal Butte Super-center to take on the role of mystery shopper and see how the reports justified were.
The first task was parking. Empty shopping carts, out of control children and traffic ignoring the arrows also made it quite dangerous to pull up anywhere safely. I gave 5/10 for access to the store. Eventually I parked and proceeded to the lobby.
I marveled at the tenacity of the world famous greeter. The man must have been touching 75 but still managed to say "Welcome to Wal-Mart" and "Thank you have a nice day" to every body as well as keeping a subtle eye on shopping cart contents and responding to alarms .A good start for customer friendliness and approachability. In fact I found that every employee who had direct customer service responsibilities had the same helpful attitude. Unfortunately the shelf stockers were far from helpful next I picked an item in the store that I knew I would never be able to locate i.e. Pledge furniture polish. The lady I asked personally walked me to the aisle Good work Wal-Mart. Due to the shelf stockers though I could only award 9/10 for helpfulness. How about stock availability?
This was his area that posed the most problems for Signal Butte. Having researched their customer service policies I found out that there are certain items that must always be on the shelves or you get it free, these items known are considered life necessities. Sugar, coffee, flour bread -the list is endless and every thing I looked for was in plentiful supply. However there were many items that I did want that were just not on the shelves-things that I wanted rather than needed! .While on he subject of availability, I must mention a particular peeve of mine. At 6'2 this mater does not really effect me but my wife is a minuscule 5' tall and whenever she wants a bottle of Pepsi the only bottles available are on the top shelf and right at the back, so she has to stand on the bottom shelf to reach for them. It may look hilarious but could be dangerous.
I continued my expedition generally taking in the overall cleanliness and tidiness of the shop floor and rest rooms. My opinion was that this was a strong point. Very clean floors and dust free shelves boosted my opinion of the place. Like wise the men's restrooms were spotless and smelled clean and fresh. There was a clipboard with employee initials stating that they were checked very frequently and cleaned when necessary. Moving over to food preparation areas I sneaked a peak through to the back of the delicatessen and I could probably have eaten my dinner off of the shiny steel work surfaces. The displayed food was all covered and the staff was wearing correct gloves and head gear. Good job. The next area of interest was the checkouts.
Wherever I shop, there never seem to be enough cash registers open. Unfortunately; this was the case on this particularly busy day. Even though a call went out for back up cashiers I didn't notice that it made a lot of difference. Another hold up seemed to be slow response time for customer service managers to answer call lights which invariably meant that a transaction was on hold and needed a supervisor to override the problem.
Overall, I had a pleasant shopping experience that evening and I think my comments were fair.Areas that needs a little 'fine tuning' are certainly the parking lot, and customer service response times particularly in answering telephones and cash register lights. In my humble opinion I do not think that any minor errors should tarnish Wal-Mart's reputation because with their 'Rollback 'and 'Price match' policies, it is impossible to buy cheaper anywhere. Today, that is all that matters.
