Not your Veterans & Transcontinental store, but close.

I've been shopping Rouse's since it first opened its two stores on Veterans and David Drive...and Veterans near Transcontinental.

I live one minute from the Power Blvd. store....and five minutes from the Vets. and Transcontinental store. It may not be fair to compare the two, since the Vets. store has the best management and employees out of any of your stores in Metairie.

The Power Blvd. store is excellent in most ways...the floral dept. with Eileen and her associates, the deli, the bakery...with Christina and the always pleasant and talented ladies in the bakery (probably the best of any of the stores)...the produce section, service desk and cashiers...all well done. A young man names Rene' is probably the anchor of the store, himself a holdover from the Sav-a-Center store days....along with Aletha, the always smiling, pleasant lady who was transferred from the Vets. store.

I do, however, have to say that the butcher section and the overall grocery section leaves something to be desired. The same popular items that are available in the Vets. store...are nearly never available at the Power Blvd. store. I always have to have someone call the Vets. store when I'm looking for local or Louisiana items at the Power Blvd. store. The management of this store has been lacking since Sav-a-Center had the store...and that was a big part of its negative image.

The grocery items and the meat items (especially the fresh Rouse's sausage) are not always readily available. Perhaps more stock in these areas of the store should be considered....particularly the most popular items at the other store on Vets.
