Provided by YP.comI had one hip replaced by Dr. Umlas February 2011. I was back to work in three months. The drive a truck for a living moving heavy dollies and dropping trailers frequently. My left hip was so bad it would get stuck and I could not straighten my leg out at times or get up. I live with this severe pain for over 10 years. I have seen chiropractors and a few other orthopedic surgeons but did not recommend hip placement. I was 56
over the years I spent thousands of dollars on over-the-counter and very expensive juices claiming to repair cartilage without legally saying so. I have gone to chiropractors claiming to come in three times a week and it would relieve the pain. None of which worked. Skip detail, I had one visit to Dr. Umlas and he looked at my x-ray and told me I needed a new hip. There was no if I do this or I do that. Just a plain you need a new hip.
I was extremely frightened to say the least of finally getting something done to relieve my pain. For the first time in my life I am going to have surgery. A total hip replacement. I felt very confident with Dr. Umlas to do a good job and to get me talking again without pain. Skipping other details, I got the surgery done and was in the hospital at 6 AM on Friday morning and I was out of the hospital at 6 PM the following Monday.
I have some complaints about Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami but they are not Dr. Umlas's concerns. Nor do they reflect the fact that I have been working for the last three years with no pain and a functioning hip to allow me to do my job. How could anybody complain about a person that brings a better lifestyle to them with their skills.
Just this past week I had my right hip replaced by Dr. Umlas in my recovery time seems to be a month ahead of schedule. There were a few things different about the surgery than the last one but the results are better and quicker recovery. Week one and I'm walking around became at home. There's a lot of therapy ahead. But I really feel like if I work hard and be ready to rock 'n roll in two months versus three months on last operation. I will post my experience with this right hip on another post. But if I ever had to recommend hip replacement to anyone suffering like I did I would highly recommend Dr. Umlas.
