By FAR one of the absolute BEST Rescues in South Florida! This rescue is run by a great group of hard working volunteers that are truly all about the dogs! Applications, Home visits, Reference checks are all done thoroughly and professionally! Many, many dogs have been saved from this organization. Every dog receives the absolute best care no matter what it is they need and all are in loving foster homes before being adopted. I highly recommend reaching out to Big Hearts when looking for your new fur-family member ❤️

I chose one star because I could not choose a black hole. This organization lists dogs on several adoption websites. I found a dog (one of the few they have that is not a pit bull or pit bull mix) that I was interested in adopting and contacted them through the adoptapet.com. They didn't respond. I went to their website and filled out an application. No response. I emailed them. No reply. I called and left a message. No one called back. I have since adopted a wonderful dog from a real rescue. For me, going elsewhere worked out great. Unfortunately for the dog they advertized as available for adoption, 4 months later, is still apparently available for adoption. It makes me wonder if they are really a rescue or they are simply pretending to be for their non-profit status. If you are looking to adopt a dog, try an organization that actually has enough respect for the humans interested in adopting to reply to inquires about their allegedly available and adoptable dogs.
